Ponce, Puerto Rico (High School)
Mission Project- On the southern coast of Puerto Rico lies the city of Ponce and many opportunities for ministry within its poor neighborhoods and communities. Students will be able to serve at a children’s home in the neighboring town of Adjuntas, interacting with the children and working to improve the facilities. Groups will also have the opportunity to minister to the children in one of the poorest communities in the city of Ponce through Children’s Outreach at the park & community center while helping their families through hands on home repair and maintenance projects. Your students will experience a different culture and come to love the children and families of Ponce as they bring Christian service to an area in need of help.
Lodging- Groups fly into San Juan and will stay at a mission outreach facility with bunk rooms, meeting & worship areas, dining hall, and swimming pool. All food, ground transportation, project needs, evening programs & music are covered.
Area Attractions: Groups will have free time to enjoy historic downtown Ponce and visit local beaches. Free day activities include exciting options such as: visiting waterfalls, hiking & zip lining through the rainforest, snorkeling excursions along the coast, and diving into the bioluminescent bay.
